NM3DPPFC – The first picture
Despite technically obtaining a fundus image, I was unable to expand the aperture significantly to achieve a wider field of view. I found that the more I expanded the aperture, the more unwanted reflections and glare appeared in the image. This also created a haze that distorted the image quality, making it more difficult to visualize the retina clearly.

In test 47, I believe I obtained the best image possible under these conditions. However, it still suffered from the same issues mentioned above, with glare being the most notable problem.

At this point, I began to suspect that the $24.62 lens might not perform as well as advertised. To move this project forward, I realized I would need to invest in a professional lens - a Volk lens. I was hesitant to make this purchase since I wanted to keep the project as cost-effective as possible. Once again, I turned to eBay to explore the second-hand market, where I found a 20D lens for $220.85. The only downside was that it didn't include a case, but I decided that would be a problem for another day.
